This Monday saw our annual Public Speaking Contest take place in the main hall. History was made as it was the first time we included participants by virtual link up from their homes. With three contestants in isolation this made sure all finalists could take part! As always, the standard of all the speeches was excellent and all participants can be very proud of their efforts and performances. Our judges, Robin Turton and Alessandra Diachara had a near impossible job, deciding on a top three but they came to the conclusion that Charlie Stoltz (3rd), Dylan King (2nd) and Olivia Davis (1st) were worthy of those positions. Olivia's speech was a wonderful summary of her 'Covid Cottage Experience' at Groudle Cottages after their house was flooded last year. It was full of adventure, humour and description - well done to everyone involved in this contest!
