Each year, the schools in Onchan play an active role in the Remembrance events. On Saturday (7th Nov) Year 6 pupils took part in a small ceremony in St Peter's Church garden of Remembrance. It involved pupils reading a poem and laying crosses to remember those who had died and were remembered on the Onchan War Memorial.
The Sunday ceremony was incredibly well supported this year and it was extremely pleasing to see a good turnout of pupils from Ashley Hill. Once again, the Year 6s did a wonderful job, performing readings and poems and laying a wreath on behalf of the school. We know these events are really impactful and demonstrate to the children the importance of remembering those who had sacrificed so much for us.
