Last weekend saw children from Ashley Hill take part in events to remember those who had given their lives for our futures. On Saturday morning, Craig Hills and Grace Miller performed poems as crosses were laid in the gardens at St Peter's Church. The following day, a number of Year 6 children (Noah Ekdahl, Sapphire Ascroft, Chloe O'Neill, Lucy Clarke and Jack Scambler) performed poems in a church service, following by readings at the war memorial. Lucy Barnett also laid a wreath on behalf of everyone at school. As always, the events of the weekend were extremely sombre and all the children involved can be very proud of the thoughtful, sensitive way they delivered their poems and readings. Thank you to everyone who joined us to support this event; it was lovely to see so many children from Ashley Hill, including those who were representing other local groups.
