Ashley Hill turned Orange today, in aid of Mannin Sepsis. Mannin Sepsis is a relatively new charitable organization, which aims to heighten public awareness of sepsis. The organization has extremely close links to Ashley Hill School. Former pupil, Ann Struthers, sadly died of the disease in 2013 at just 18 years old. In June, we invited Dee Struthers, Amy’s mum, and Ali Thomas to lead a staff meeting, helping us all to learn more about the disease. It’s fair to say we were all struck by the powerful stories they had to tell and, as a school, we’re determined to help and support their efforts to raise an awareness of the signs and symptoms. As part of the day, Ali led a whole school assembly, to remind children about the importance of washing their hands regularly and telling an adult if they're feeling poorly.

Thank you to all parents and children who've contributed to the day. We know the money raised will help the charity continue the fantastic work they're doing on the Isle of Man.
