Today saw children from Ashley Hill take part in the inaugural Junior Commissioners meeting, hosted by Onchan Commissioners in their board room. Dylan, Tegan, Jack and Ruby were welcome by Mr Allen (Chairman of Onchan Commissioners) and Mr McFarlane (Deputy Chair) who invited the children to tell them about the problems and issues they witness in the Onchan community. Pupils from Ashley Hill, Onchan and Bemahague spoke about how proud they were to be members of the local community but admitted there were problems that needed to be resolved, such as vandalism, litter and improvements to local parks. Our Junior Commissioners will meet again next half term when they will discuss matters further and develop an action plan for the future.
