As a part of their WW2 topic the Year 4/5 children had an opportunity to experience being 'evacuated'. They dressed in 1940's style clothes, collected their identity tags and gas mask boxes and set off for the train station. They travelled on the steam train to Castletown where they visited the Aviation Museum to learn about the islands involvement in WW2. After lunch back at the station they played games that children in the 1940's would have enjoyed before travelling back to Douglas on the steam train. It was a lovely day and a great experience.
