Yesterday, year 4, as part of the mini project with Miss Cain were developing their understanding of food and farming in the Isle of Man. With the help of Allan Radcliffe, Micheal Kelly, Richard Crowe and his dog Kate they were treated to a fantastic working sheep dog demonstration and sheep shearing display on our school field! There’s not many children who can say they went to a school that had the space we do to be able to have this experience. Reception also joined us in what will hopefully be the start of their agricultural education at Ashley hill. All the children were engaged and took the opportunity to ask fantastic questions drawing in the wealth of knowledge that had. Thank you to Al, Micheal, Richard and Kate for giving up their time to help with enforcing the learning with a real life learning experience.
