Remembrance weekend

Published Sunday 9 November 2025

This weekend, Ashley Hill remembered by taking part in the Remembrance services in Onchan on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, our Ambassadors and other children joined with other local schools in the garden of Remembrance at St Peter's Church. They took part in a short service, reciting thoughtful poems that allowed the congregation to consider the sacrifices that have been made during wars. On the Sunday, children took part in the Remembrance service at St Peter's Church, followed by observing the two-minute silence at 11am at Onchan War Memorial. Our Ambassadors performed readings about servicemen who'd died in conflict, and laid a wreath as part of reflections. On Tuesday, 11th November, our Ambassadors will join the community at the War Memorial to respect the two-minute silence. These occasions are an important part of our calendar as we help the children understand the sacrifices that have been made to ensure their freedom. Ashley Hill Will Remember Them.
